Shoal Bay Beach

Located only 900m away, Shoal Bay Beach is one of Port Stephens most iconic and beautiful beaches. In summer time, it is the place to be!

The water’s edge does have a drop off, so it’s recommended for families with older children.

Mt Tomaree overlooks Shoal Bay Beach, and is a fantastic short but challenging grade 5 hike.

Nelson Bay Beach

Fly Point

Located 1km away, Fly Point/Nelson Bay Beach is another great family friendly beach and is ideal when the wind is coming from the NE in the afternoon.
Fly Point is top shore diving and snorkelling spot in NSW, see rare marine life like seahorses and wobbegong sharks.

Little Beach

Little Beach is only a few minutes stroll away, with picnic tables, jetty and a boat ramp. There is a small takeaway shop, as well as the Little Beach Boathouse restaurant and bar, and a road leading to the InnerLight Tea rooms at the lighthouse, which has spectacular views.

Located only 850m away, this beach is ideal for families with small children and a perfect spot to watch the sun go down or spot dolphins.

Shoal Bay

The picturesque esplanade on the foreshore of Shoal Bay, features picnic areas, boutique specialty shops, restaurants and the iconic Shoal Bay Country Club lining Shoal Bay Road. A relaxed, coastal atmosphere, with access to a beautiful white-sand beach, and is a popular location for activities like water sports, and hikes to Mount Tomaree.

Nelson Bay

Shopping is a mix of boutique and specialty shops, souvenir outlets, clothing stores, and services like pharmacies, newsagents, and banks are found in the main street and marina precinct. 

For dining, enjoy a wide array of cafes, restaurants (including fresh seafood at the fish co-op), bars, and ice cream parlours are available, with many offering waterfront views.
